One of Colorado’s most iconic mountain towns only 90 minutes west of Denver is debuting its first-ever wildflower festival in summer 2026.
The town of Breckenridge is hosting Breckenridge Wildflower Week, a new festival celebrating peak bloom season, and is scheduled to run from July 2-12, according to the GoBreck.com. Some events are free, others will have a cost attached to the event.
The event features free guided wildflower hikes, free live music, plein (outdoor) air painting classes, floral cocktails and mocktails, family-friendly bike rides and more.
GoBreck.com said the festival is inspired by Breckenridge’s vibrant alpine wildflower season and will give attendees the opportunity to be involved with environmental education and stewardship.

“The festival ties together guided wildflower hikes hosted by Breckenridge Open Space and Trails (OST), concerts in nature from the National Repertory Orchestra and Breck Create’s wildflower-inspired arts classes taking place in wildflower meadows featuring plein air watercolor painting, glass-blowing and mosaic making,” organizers at GoBreck.com said.
Other Wildflower Week activities include a craft and art fair, farmers markets, pressed-flower classes, a family-friendly guided bike ride, free bloom-themed Yoga on the Riverwalk Lawn and forest bathing.
“The Town’s Open Space and Trails program is excited to collaborate with the Breckenridge Tourism Office to celebrate the incredible wildflowers of our local ecosystem and invites the community to connect with these lands in a more meaningful and educational way,” Alex Stauch, OST Manager for the Town of Breckenridge said. “Wildflower Week for us is about sharing the story of Breckenridge’s biodiversity with our residents and visitors while encouraging responsible recreation in these sensitive habitats.”
On Main Street Breckenridge, attendees can walk to see delightful “Wildflower Windows” decorated by local shops and pop into restaurants for floral-themed bites and beverages.
Wildflower cocktail and mocktail experiences will be offered at Breckenridge Distillery, which turns ethically foraged blooms into beautiful libations, according to GoBreck.com.

GoBreck.com said wildflower season typically peaks in Breckenridge in late July, but due to lower snowpack this year, local experts believe peak wildflower season will be several weeks earlier in the high country.
Visitors can expect to find colorful blooms ranging from blue columbine to pink lupine, red and orange Indian paintbrush, magenta asters, purple elephant heads, yellow daisies and many other types of wildflowers.
