The Mighty Argo Cable Car in Idaho Springs, Colorado opens to the public on Saturday, May 9. On Friday, May 1, approximately 200 people attended the ribbon cutting ceremony at the base area and at the top of the gondola at Miner’s Point.
Freshly fallen snow and cool temperatures also welcomed guests, with contrasting winter and spring conditions setting the scene for the happy day. MACC co-founder Mary Jane Loevlie and Idaho Springs mayor Chuck Harmon cut the ribbon before guests ascended to the top to Miner’s Point for speeches, vistas, food and drinks.
The $71M gondola system carries passengers 1.2 miles uphill above the town and Clear Creek.

The price for the Cable Car Experience only for an adult ages 18-64 is $49.95, for kids ages 6-17 is $29.95, for seniors aged 65+ is $39.95, for active/veteran military with ID is $39.95 and for Idaho Springs residents and kids under 5 the cost is free. This ticket is good for a single ride up and back.
