Colorado’s ski and ride season is beginning to wind down, and after record-low snowpack statewide, a few ski areas are closing earlier than previously anticipated.
Statewide snowpack levels have most likely peaked for the season, nearly three weeks ahead of April 8’s average median peak at roughly 59% of median average.

Sunlight Mountain, south of Glenwood Springs, announced Wednesday it was closing down its lifts for the season this weekend on Sunday, March 22. Kendall Mountain in Silverton has already closed for the season.
It is possible that these dates may change due to the abnormally warm weather Colorado has been experiencing in the month of March. Check specific ski area or resort websites or social media accounts for updates.
